Woke up at 6am Sunday morning ready for my long ride, looked out the window and promptly got back into bed. It was belting down. I don't mind riding in the rain (it's the wind I hate!) but it was the final straw to making my decision not to ride. My parents come over next week from the UK for a three week visit so its all hands on deck at the moment to get jobs around the house done and decorating finished. I knew that I had a full days wallpaper stripping and painting and so I decided to save some energy for that and caught some more zzzzs. Room looks good but my fitness hasn't improved at all. I suppose using the wallpaper stripper was a good workout for my arms. Much tougher than swimming 80 lengths.
I'm going to struggle in the next three weeks to keep on track with the training. I'm going to have to do workouts whenever I can and not stress too much if I can't follow my schedule. I'll still have plenty of time once they have gone back to catch up and put in the hard work. It'll probably do my calf good to have a bit more rest as well, although its going to be easier to sneak out for a quick run than a 3hr bike ride. We'll do all the touristy things so I'm sure there will be lots of walking (a trip around, and maybe up, the Mount has been penciled in) and if the weather is anything like it was yesterday I might venture out to sea for a few 100m when we visit the beach.
I've started to take my diet a bit more seriously and hoping to lose a few pounds. Currently 194.5lbs. Joined a Biggest Loser challenge on Traineo.com. Hoping it'll motivate me.
