Ironman? Nah! ... well maybe ... maybe not ....

So ... I saw this advert in the paper for a weight loss challenge in Tauranga. Fifty people sign up for a 12 week challenge. Thirty five bucks to join. One dollar every pound (half kilo) you put on. Five bucks if you miss a week. BUT .... the person at the end of the 12 weeks who loses the most weight wins nearly $700 ... about the same amount as the fee for IronmanNZ. I put it to Jo that if I win it I could use the money for that. It wasn't a definite NO so I'l take that as an almost yes. If I win it then I think I could swing it. I was thinking not for next year but the year after but what the hell if I can win this thing I'm doing IronmanNZ in March 2010. Oh yes I have to win the challenge first. It's percentage body weight so I have a chance. I can be disciplined for 12 weeks surely. I can lose heaps of weight in 12 weeks. Then I can eat ... and plan Ironman 2010. I want this. Starts this Wednesday. Wish me luck.

If there was ever a case of getting ahead of oneself then this is it.

I can recognise husband logic when I see it :)

Good luck with the challenge!

Don't forget that the other people who enter the challenge will be starting with much more to lose..

Drink a truck load of water before weigh in. Not going to cause permanent weight gain, but will mean the starting weight is heaps higher. Then get meausred at the end when you haven't drunk much =)

@ Philip ... I couldn't possibly do that ... or wear really heavy clothing 1st week or eat like a pig for the 4 days I have before it starts or load up my wallet with coins or wear two pairs of undies ... no that would all be soooo wrong.

@ Kate ... it's all about the percentage though. Heavier they are the more kilos/pounds they have to lose. I'm just hoping that they make the weight loss public to the group so you can see 'what the score is' every week.

I saw that advertised in the paper and thought about it myself - but that sort of stuff sometimes has the opposite effect with me, so I gave it a miss.

Did you sign up?????????

Signed up Wednesday. First weigh in was 97.5kg (214.4lbs) so I have scope to loose a bit. Higher because it was an evening weight and fully clothed. It was all about selling Herbalife products but I don't care.
