Final Weigh-In

Tonight was the last weigh in of the local 12 week challenge. Next week is just prize giving.

After 3 weeks with a total loss of 100g I finally broke through the plateau. I lost 1.9kg. Well pleased. I knew that I was losing weight/fat whatever even when the scales weren't moving because I was constantly adjusting my belt hole. Final results were:

Start weight 97.5kg

Last week 85.2kg

Finish weight 83.3kg

Weekly weight loss 1.9kg

Total weight loss 14.2kg

Percentage loss 14.6%

I have never taken my body measurements before and so didn't really know what to expect. My results were as follows:

Chest - start 105cm, finish 92cm (loss of 13cm) - not sure that's good?

Waist - start 102cm, finish 76cm - in English I went from a 40 inch wait to 36. (loss of 26cm)

Hips - 109cm, finish 99cm (loss of 10cm) - I will miss my child bearing hips :)

I do take these changes with a small pinch of salt because the tape measure felt awfully tight for the final measurements but there has certainly been some shrinkage going on.

The results on show tonight from last weeks weigh in had me on 12% in 1st place and the second place person moving up to 10%. They obviously had a big weight loss last week cos 2nd and 3rd were both on 8% previously. I'm glad I put in a big loss this week just to make sure. With me on 14.6% they would have to have lost over 6% tonight. No-body who stayed for the meeting lost more than me tonight so I think I am safe.

I hope so cos I have already spent the prize money.

It should be here tomorrow.

Oh. I am so jealous. Of the Garmin mostly. But the weight loss too.

Nice work Mike!!

Awesome. That Garmin looks freakin' sweet! You'll have to let me know if it tracks you while swimming in open water, and how hard it is to get your wetsuit off over it.

Oh and good work on the weight loss... =)

Those are huge stats. Well done! And that Garmin is a sexy beast, isn't it? I really love that orange, in particular. However my 305 works just fine, so I guess I can't really get away with ordering another one!

Congrats! That garmin has to be the best prize around! I can't wait to hear how you like it! I've been waiting for my garmin to die, so I can buy a new one.

Only problem Phil is that Mike never gets in the open water. I'll try it out for him. Hehe.

Good effort. Now have a beer & cake to celebrate.

We're having an Indian feast and a few beers tomorrow to celebrate my success ... oh yeah and our wedding anniversary.

Congrats on the weight loss, that's a great effort and a nice solid amount to lose.

I hope the Garmin can help you go further. I'm looking forward to strapping one of those on soon and going running into the mountains.
