Mon - 20 min run. Didn't feel like going out but I know that I need to keep running consistantly to maximise my chances of NOT getting injured. Decided that even 20 mins would be better than nothing and so like last week I started off the week with a short workout. I tried to run the hills hard to make up for lack of time. Felt good. I was glad I went out ... even if it just meant I stretched well.
Tue - hour on windtrainer. Pretty non-descript. Just got it done.
Wed - No training. Got home late from work and had to go straight to Weigh-in for the weight loss challenge. No time to sweat off a few pounds. Luckily I stayed the same weight. I've still gone all the weeks so far without an increase. Phew! Only one more week left.
Thu - 1.5hrs on windtrainer. Alternated 10 mins easy with 10 mins hard in the aero bars. I really enjoyed this session. Watched Gilmore Girls. We've only just recently discovered it and are in the process of catching up seven series worth of DVD's. Great show.
Fri - Ran the loop into Tauranga along Fraser (hillyish) and then back along Cameron (flat). Might really be adventurous next week and run it the other way. I'm a creature of habit so maybe not. My pace was about 5:4x for the 14K. I need to run these a bit slower. I sped up and ran 'intervals' too many times when my favourite songs came on. I must resist doing this during the long run. Kate was telling me off in my head every time I increased the pace.
Sat - Rest day but it included a short walk to look for seals on the rocks at the Mount. Twas a gorgeous day so all good. If you look carefully you can see the seal ... I think :)
Sun - 3 hour ride along Welcome Bay Road with the normal three climbs. Legs felt OK(ish) but there was no World Record climbing Reid Rd. Took 12:04 which is probably one of my fastest times but the record is 11:55. *edit update* 12:04 is my 2nd fastest timed climb of Reid Rd :)
Had to 'work' in the afternoon. Well I had to 'man' the Polytech's stand at the local expo for two hours. Not too bad but my legs were tired standing around. I wanted to sleep.
There was a stationary bike at another stand connected to lights. Idea was to keep the lights lit for the most time. The men's record when I went over there was 18 seconds. The girls was 3 seconds. I had to have a go. My legs were trashed from the 3hr morning ride but I knew I could pedal hard. I had four goes. My best effort was timed at 2.5 seconds.
Obviously something wrong with the bike! :)
Lots of testing planned for next week and then 'proper' Half Ironman training starts. Can't wait.

Proper training. I like the sound of that. Well done with the 2.5 secs.
Yeah I was very proud! :)
"Kate was telling me off in my head every time I increased the pace."
Too true :)
Good work on the training sounds like its going well!
I'm kinda embarrassed now!
Oooops sorry ... didn't mean to embarrass you :) It was ironic though that I later read on your blog how you were putting in spurts of speed in your long run. 'Do as I say' rather than 'do as I do' eh?
